My Work Station with few slides..........
There are few inspirational sketches, which are prepared before starting the actual production.
Ooooof……….. after long time I am getting time to post something old stuff. I had completed this stuff in 2008 but now I got permission to show this work through my blog. This spot film is now broadcasting in the Doordarshan. I got a very good response from the Rajasthan Govt. & the Health Ministry; I hope soon Birla Institute of Technology, Animation & Multimedia Dept. will be working on some more new projects in the association with the Rajasthan Health Systems Development Project.
In the year 2008, I submitted a proposal to Rajasthan Health Ministry that whatever spot films on the public health issues, are shown to the viewers, which are boring and repellent. Whenever people watch those spot films they change the channel immediately. Govt. spends lot of funds to educate people through television spot films especially for a below poverty group. If Govt. publicizes those topics through animation definitely there will be some awareness in the public as animation is an entertaining medium. A serious message can be given in an entertaining manner through animation. People of all age groups enjoy watching animation. I got a quick response from Rajasthan Health Ministry immediately after submitting this proposal. Finally I got this opportunity to start a project with BPL Card and I came up with a new idea.
The key message of the spot film is “Come and utilize health care services provided for you free of cost, utilize these services at the nearest health care center” The target group is BPL, ST, Women and other privileged groups. The spot is based on dialogue between two-puppet characters- Male- Mansukhiya and Female- Putli Bai. These are the popular string puppets of the Rajasthan. I was always passionate to draw Rajasthani Characters in cartoon form as I was born and brought up in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Whatever I have seen in my surroundings I want to implement them through my creativity. You can also enjoy the interesting dance sequence during this spot film.
In this Animated Spot Film My role was as a Director, I enjoyed lot to design and animate these characters in the Rajasthani “Kaalbeliya” style.
First of all I would like to extend my special thanks to my dear colleague Mr. Vivek Sharma who came up with a wonderful storyboard and animation. I am also thankful to another colleague Mr. Gautam Goswami who designed a background for this spot film. I am heartily thankful to my two students- Mr. Abhishek Sahay and Mr. Anshul Jain who worked really hard in the whole project. I would like to extend my very- very special thanks to my all the team members like Mr. Saurabh Anand, Mr. Tejeshwar Prasad, Mr. Saumen Chandra Mandel, Mr. Shreejeet, Mr. Kaushik Lohani, Mr. Raghav, Mr. Ankit Jain, Mr. Hemant Kulshreshtha, Miss Navanka Kedia, Miss Prerna Khandelwal, Miss Sukriti Verma, Miss Bhawini Mittal, Miss Shipra Khattar and Miss Neha Saxena for their contribution. Without them I was not able to complete this enormous task successfully.
I would like to extend my very-very special thanks to the Mrs. Achla Kapoor, (Associate Director- ICEA) Mrs. Sunita Toumar (Consultant-RHSDP) and Mr. Hemant Acharya (Consultant-IEC) for giving me a wonderful opportunity. Thanking you and enjoy all the images and Spot Film.
Best Regards,

An Exhibition of Caricatures" Serene Silhouette"

A News paper cutting from The Hindustan Times on 04th May 2009 A News paper cutting from Times of India on 06th May 2009 A News paper cutting from DNA on 30th April 2009 A news paper cutting from Rajasthan Patrika on 29th April 2009 A news paper cutting from Dainik Bhaskar on 30th April 2009 With Dr.Vidhya Sagar Upadhyaya Few moment with Prof. P.N. Choyal, An Eminent sr.Painter Me & My Wife Kriti, My Daughter Heli and My Son Atharv Pandya Interviewing with the reporter of Times of India. Guest of Honor Dr. Abhinav Dinesh, Director, Birla Institute of Technology Inaugrated by Dr. Vidhya Sagar Upadhyaya An Eminent Artist Well, after long time I could get the time for posting some new stuff. Today I am going to publish few more photographs and newspaper cuttings of my recent exhibition of caricatures, which was held at Sukriti Art Gallery, Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur from 28th To 30th April 2009. The entire caricatures have been prepared on the current issues and completed within 15 days of time frame. Overall around 52 caricatures were displayed in the art gallery. That was really a great experience, wonder & miracle for me to complete this enormous and incredible task successfully.
“Serene Silhouette” means composed figure with outlines, I generally use lines, curves and shapes to create a caricature. It is so much fun to exaggerate the features of people, friends, political leaders, Indian gurus, eminent artists; film stars, criminals etc. distort their faces and make them look funny. I do not add any satire on anybody because it goes out of the limits of cartoon area that may hurt anybody personally. I do not want any controversies, it is neat and clean humor, just for everyone’s enjoyment. For me it is feature of personality or the subject which inspire me to make a cartoon out of it. I have made a series on expressions of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Dr. Man Mohan Singh, but I have not lost any sense of delicacy.
This exhibition was inaugurated by en eminent artist Dr. Vidhya Sagar Upadhyaya. The Director of Birla Institute of Technology Dr. Abhinav Dinesh, who was the Guest of Honor for this show. After viewing the show Dr. Upadhyaya appreciated the work “I congratulating him for experimenting beautiful lines of the caricatures”. According to the Director of Birla Institute of Technology” Life has different aspects and dimensions. These aspects have been very well expressed through creating various moods of persons. The expressions are extremely visible and tell the meaning. Heartily Congratulations for this innovative and creative expression of art”.
Many known Artists, Art Critics, News Reporters of both print and electronics media, Lecturers, Students and other personalities were the guests for this exhibition. Next day the main attraction and the chief guest of the show was a Renowned Painter Prof. PN Choyal visited the gallery, he enjoyed lot to see the caricatures of different personalities.
Most of the pieces are a take on the current poll environment and have been made in the last 15 days. God gave me the energy to finish it off so quickly. It was like a magic.
This exhibition was dedicated to Sri Satya Sai Baba, Who gave me so much energy and blessings throughout I was working for the exhibition.
I would like to extend my special thanks to Mr. Gautam Goswami and Mr. Nitin Jain who spent their so much time to apply all the necessary arrangements like photography, encouragement, Publicity, coverage etc. ……..And very special thanks to Mrs. Neerja Sharma and Mr. Rishi Pandey for helping me to identify the title and designing invitation card, Banner, Boucher etc.
